Second Nature

A company called Second Nature has been set up to make and sell Thermafleece – wool from Cumbrian highland sheep. Christine Armstrong thought of using wool to insulate her loft, but the only wool she could find for the purpose was from imported wool. So she and David Baldry started a business. The wool from the Cumbrian highland sheep is helping to conserve the traditional landscapes of the fells and dales – and, no doubt the breed.
