Orchards, Trees & Orchard Produce
Staffordshire
The Tettenhall Dick Pear is from Perton in Tettenhall. Large trees crop with its little pears which are used for perry. Thought to be an old variety, perhaps before the 18th century. The pear is now being planted again, having been grafted and added to the National collection at Brogdale in Kent. In 2000 the Newcastle Countryside Project helped local children plant Tettenhall Dick pears at Apedale Country Park.
