COX Seats

These metal seats (incorporating guards to protect the growing trees) were commissioned & designed by Common Ground, and made by blacksmith-sculptor Richard Farrington in 1992. They are situated in the Community Orchard at Colnbrook (Berkshire), near the location of the original Cox's Orange Pippin tree, grown in the 1820s by Richard Cox, and are imprinted with information about Cox, and the story of his trees and apples.
