"A field called Paste Egg ... obviously this sloping valley side was a venue for egg rolling ... this Easter we decided to revive the custom. The owner was enthusiastic and mowed a special "bouling sward" as he thought the vegetation too long to achieve a good run.

Forty children and grown-ups turned up to dye their eggs with onion, gorse and cow parsley. We then bouled and jarped (?) the eggs, ensuring that a new generation experienced these traditional pastimes.

All in all, a great success and we fully expect to repeat the activity next year."
