A Present From East Anglia

Fran Crowe has made souvenir packs of beach debris in East Anglia and donates the proceeds to charity. She has collected and packaged material found at Thorpeness, Dunwich and Wells-next-the-Sea. She says: "In order to highlight the problems of marine and beach litter, I collected beach debris and packaged it as souvenirs. A stall was set up on the beach offering the products for sale (in reality exchanging packs for a donation to the Marine Conservation Society and Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society)."

"I really like the idea of these souvenirs sitting on mantlepieces or windowsills and becoming little discussion points or reminders in the home. One woman said she would pin hers above the bin to remind herself of the issues of waste and that throwing things away isn't the end of the journey for a product (especially plastic)."
