We shall look at the influence old and new festivals celebrating specific local foods have on their places and on the sales of the food. The Alresford Watercress Festival, Rhubarb Festival in Wakefield, Garlic Festival in Newchurch, IOW, and Damson Day in the Lyth Valley of Cumbria as well as Apple Day are all popular and help to raise the profile of their places and their produce.
