Dessert Apples
Wyken Pippin, an old variety introduced from Holland at beginning of 18th century. Believed to have come from a pip saved from an apple eaten by Lord Craven on his travels from France to the Netherlands in about 1715. Planted at Wyken near Coventry. Greenish skin dotted with russet. Delicious yellow flesh. Juicy, sweet, tender. Best between Christmas and Easter
