Dessert Apples
Burn’s Seedling thought to be the variety raised by Henry Burn, Head Gardener at Tottenham Park near Marlborough in the 19th century. Celt raised in 1843 by David Harris of Melksham. Chorister Boy found in a garden in Wiltshire and introduced by Keynes, Williams & Co. of Salisbury, recorded in 1890. Corsley Pippin, Dredge’s Fame introduced by nurseryman William Dredge of Wishford, recorded in 1802. Roundway Magnum Bonum a valuable and distinctive fruit, raised by Mr Joy, gardener at Roundway Park, near Devizes, first documented 1864. Delicious pear-like flavour.
Dual Purpose Apples
Bedwyn Beauty raised by Mr Stone of Great Bedwyn near Marlborough in 1890, dessert and culinary. Mary Barnett raised by Mrs Mary Jane Barnett, Steeple Ashton, on her wedding day in 1920 with a pip, dessert and culinary.
